Hendrick Gonzalez, DDS
Founder and CEO
A native of the beautiful island of Cuba, he came to the United States and after completing his requirements he received his license and started practicing in California’s central coast in 2003. He moved here from Ventura, founded Santa Barbara Family Dentistry and has been providing support and care to the community since 2004.
Dr. Gonzalez strongly believes in continue education and keeps up to date with the latest dental technology through his own continuing education. He has done postgraduate training in oral surgery (including Implants), crown and bridge rehabilitation, endodontics, periodontal and prosthodontic treatments.
He is active and has volunteered in a number of community programs such as The Community Action Commission’s Head Start Program, Clear Channel’s New You Make Over, various Health Fairs in the area and is the Founder of a Scholarship Program for Santa Maria area high schools.
He is also working with humanitarian programs such as The Way to Happiness and the Foundation for a Drug Free World.
Dr. Gonzalez is a proud member of multiple dental groups including: The American Dental Association, California Dental Association and member of the Board of the Central Coast Dental Association.
Ruth Garzon, DDS
Dr. Ruth Garzon grew up in Bogota, Colombia, and graduated with honors from El Bosque University before continuing her education and getting her License in the United States.
She has been in practice since 2003 and does all phases of Dentistry as a family (general) practitioner with multiple memberships and other qualifications including: Member of the Academy of General Dentist, The American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, The Central Coast Dental Association.
She and Dr. Gonzalez work closely with the community in the city of Santa Maria where they continually provide Dental Services, and support to the residents of Santa Maria and surrounding areas.
Lizzett Mujica, DDS
Dr. Lizzett Mujica, born in Cuba and graduated from the Institute of Medical Science of Villa Clara in 1990. She continued her education in California and after completing all requirements she received her dental license in 2006; she also has her Dental Hygienist license from Florida that she earned before she worked as a dentist.
She has strong interest in cosmetic dentistry; she has postgraduate training in endodontics and orthodontics. What she enjoys most about her job is the satisfaction she gets when she looks at the smile on a patient’s face after they have received their treatment and is content with it.
Her goal in life is for all the patients she treats to have healthy teeth and gums for the rest of their lives. Also the perfect smile they have as a result of her orthodontic and restorative treatments.
She is a member of the following dental groups: The American Dental Association, The California Dental Association and The Central Coast Dental Association.
Dr. Pedro Avendano, DDS
Dr. Pedro Avendano graduated with honors from the University of Chile. There he also served as a clinical instructor in fixed prosthodontics, crowns, bridges, as well as implants training for the International Team for Implantology Straumann (ITI) Prior to coming to California, he served as the Director of the Group of Clinical Practices in Santiago , Chile were he focused on implants and Oral Rehabilitation. He is an active member of numerous dental societies in which he participates in lectures and continued education focused on Endodontics, Oral Surgery, and Implants. Dr. Avendano enjoys mountain skiing and spending time with his family.
Minah Lee, DDS
Dr. Lee achieved her Doctorate of Dentistry from the Kyungpook National University of Dental Medicine in South Korea in 1997.
She worked as an Associate dentist in Korea from 1997 -2002.
She moved to the United States and passed her California Dental Board in 2003. She visited and continued to work in Korea each summer between 2005-2008.
Dr. Lee and her family moved from the state of Washington to Santa Maria and she has been working with Santa Barbara Family Dentistry since the summer of 2009.
Dr. Lee does general dentistry, her strengths, training and experience is Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy) and Surgical Extractions.
She is a member of: The American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, and The Central Coast Dental Association.
